Spring foraging

The forest is coming alive! It’s springtime, and a great time to get the hiking boots out to go foraging. Right now in Maine, you can still find plenty of woodland goodies to add to the dinner plate. Right now we’re foraging for Dryad’s saddle aka Pheasant Back mushrooms, fiddleheads, ramps, wild mustard, and fresh Turkey Tail mushrooms. This is just the start of the season! In the next few weeks you’ll see more wild mushrooms like Reishi, wood ear, amber jelly, and maybe even some boletes begin to show up.
Happy foraging!
